Presentation           Research        Teaching

I am a CNRS researcher at the LIG (Laboratoire d’Informatique de Grenoble, Université Grenoble Alpes) and an ELLIS member. I lead the APTIKAL team, the Machine Learning group of LIG, and I am responsible for the lab's diversity group (joint with LJK).

My research focuses on statistical learning, with a strong emphasis on causal inference. My current and future projects explore causal abstraction, causal representation learning, and the integration of causal knowledge to improve machine learning predictions. These topics have applications in healthcare, materials science, and AI robustness. If you are interested in collaborating, feel free to contact me!

Since January 2026, I co-lead the ECLAIRE working group (GdR RADIA) with Pierre-Henri Wuillemin. I also co-lead the Causalit-AI action in the PEPR IA , alongside Marianne Clausel. I serve on the editorial board of Machine Learning Journal, and as an area chair for UAI 2026.

In December 2024, I defended my HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) before an outstanding jury. You can access the manuscript here and the slides here. Before joining CNRS, I was a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven (2015–2017), collaborating with Irène Gijbels and Gerda Claeskens on misaligned functional data. I defended my PhD from Université Paris-Sud in July 2015, under the supervision of Pascal Massart and Jean-Michel Poggi. The manuscript is available here, and the defense slides here.

For more details, you can download my English CV (updated March 2025).
